Antigua y muy noble familia Vicenza, rica y adornada con hombres ilustres para la nobleza de la sangre y para la ciencia, que se ha extendido a lo largo de los siglos en varias regiones de Italia. En 1260, según lo informado por una crónica de Vicenza, fueron Cristoforo y Goffredo, q. Marco Zago, sus mayores. Más tarde ejercieron el notario, obtuvieron la ciudadanía de Vicenza en 1660 y entraron en ese noble consejo en el año 1732. Ortensio, por su valor en las ciencias matemáticas e hidráulicas, recibió el título de canciller y conde de la República de Venecia. como se registró en la Sopra Feudi en 1730. Varias ramas de la familia también florecieron en otros lugares.
