Famiglia originaria da Bolzano. Ebbe la nobiltà col predicato di Stillendorf con Diploma 11 marzo 1664 dell'imperatore Leopoldo, titolo riconosciuto con Decreto Ministeriale 29 settembre 1926. Esiste inoltre ramo col predicato di Thurm non ancora iscritto nell'Elenco Ufficiale della Nobiltà Italiana e nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano coi titoli di nobile, col predicato di Stillendorf (mf.), in persona di Michele, di Francesco, di Carlo, n. Bolzano 14 giugno 1888, spos. ivi 10 aprile 1918 con Elisabetta de Kathrein. Figli: Maria Elisabetta, n. Innsbruck il 13 gennaio 1910; Giuseppe, n. Bolzano il I° maggio 1920. Fu costume delle più antiche famiglie, le quali dopo la caduta del Romano Imperio, in quella inondatione de' Barbari, havendo i loro cognomi, sicome gli studi, e altre cose belle smarrito e restati solo con semplici nomi, trarre di nuovo i loro cognomi, e il loro casato da' nomi proprii paterni, e de' maggiori.
