Antichissima famiglia che si divise in due rami, quello dei Lambardi di Mammi e quello dei Lambardi di Tuoro. Appartenne al Consiglio dei Sessanta, seguì la Parte Guelfa e fu onorato del Gonfalonierato di Giustizia. Nel secolo XVI ebbe il condominio del castello di Citerna nell'Umbria insieme coi Tarlati di Pietramala. Pierantonio ebbe parte in un trattato con Pandolfo Petrucci, Signore di Siena, e con Vitelozzo Vitelli, Signore di Città di Castello per sottrarre Arezzo dal dominio fiorentino. Antonio fu vescovo di Canne, e Francesco di Veroli. Ebbe questa famiglia molti uomini d'arme fra cui Lelio, che fu preposto alle milizie di Alessandro VII; e II cavalieri dell'Ordine di S. Stefano.
