Família antiga e muito nobre, que, no desenrolar natural dos séculos, foi chamada Zanazzi, Zanassi, Zanazi, Zanasi, Zinasi, Zanasio e Ginnasi. Tommaso da Messina, muito hábil nas boas ciências, depois de muitas viagens para a Itália, entrou em Cremona, firme e nobremente casado por lá, iniciou a família. De Cremona, então, a família passou para Ímola e, em 1359, um Nicolò de Zinasiis de Cremona foi encontrado na cidade.
