Família veneziana antiga e muito nobre, com residência em Bassano, mas oriunda da Pove, onde cuidava da extração de mármore, que se espalhou ao longo dos séculos em várias regiões da Itália e da Europa. A ascensão da família se deve a Ambrogio, que se destacou particularmente em obras de caridade e administrações públicas. No ano de 1726, a casa foi incluída no catálogo de famílias nobres de Bassano, formado e aprovado pelo Senado de Veneto, justamente naquele ano. Foi então que essa família confirmou nobre, com a Resolução Soberana de 21 de setembro de 1821, na pessoa de Bernardino, do falecido Francesco e da nobre senhora Elena Lugo, nascida em 10 de março de 1753, falecida em 27 de agosto de 1824, que se casou, no primeiro votos, com a nobre Sra.
