Ancient family originally from Lombardy. This noble family belongs to that Nicolò Zannasio who by Leo XI in 1378 was raised to the episcopal see of Brescia, then transferred in 1382 to the seat of Benevento by Gregorio XI, and finally in 1384 promoted to the Archbishopric of Naples. Among this family its origin in Lombardy, the malicious languages cannot criticize against the very ancient origin, and progress of this very clear family. Of Lombard origin, his first memoirs in Milan date back to the time of Frederick II, according to Morgia Paolo in the "Nobility of Milan divided into six books" printed in Milan in 1595. The same author reports that this is one of the most noble and ancient Milan families.
