Família antiga originária da Lombardia. Esta nobre família pertence àquele Nicolò Zannasio que, por Leão XI em 1378, foi elevado à sede episcopal de Brescia, depois transferido em 1382 para Gregorio XI pela sede de Benevento e, finalmente, em 1384, promovido ao arcebispado de Nápoles. Entre essa família, sua origem na Lombardia, os idiomas maliciosos não podem criticar contra a origem muito antiga e o progresso dessa família muito clara. De origem lombarda, suas primeiras memórias em Milão datam da época de Federico II, de acordo com Morgia Paolo na "Nobreza de Milão dividida em seis livros" impressa em Milão em 1595. O mesmo autor relata que este é um dos mais nobres e antigos Famílias de Milão.
