With diploma 19 Apr. 1661 the Emperor Leopold I conferred on this family the nobility of the SRI * and of the Austrian hereditary states in both sexes. It was later ascribed to the original Venetian citizenship. and the empress Maria-Teresa with diploma 30 Jun. 1761 conferred on her the title of Count of Lombardy transmissible to the first-born only. It was confirmed noble with sovereign resolutions 25 Jul. 1820 and 25 Feb. 1823. * Holy Roman Empire, name officially assumed by the reconstituted Western Roman Empire after the solemn coronation of Charlemagne in Rome (800). The noble titles of the Holy Roman Empire, according to the maximary of the Heraldic Consulta, were conferred on Italian families, by ancient tradition, and they consider themselves as Italian titles.
