Antica famiglia patrizia di Cosenza, reputata originaria di Francia. Tenne il feudo nobile di Lattarico, e, secondo il Castiglion Morelli, anche la terra di Eboli per concessione di Federico d'Aragona. Fu ricevuta nell'ordine di Malta sin dal 1592 con un Maurizio, valoroso nelle armi ed autore di varie commedie. Sono degni di ricordo fra gli altri: Angelo, famigliare di Alfonso I d'Aragona; Giovanni ambasciatore pel re Federico alla Corte di Ferdinando il Cattolico; Francesco Antonio, detto gesuita, rinomato oratore. Con Regio Decreto 14 luglio 1907 la famiglia venne riconosciuta nel titolo patrizio di Cosenza per m. e con rinnov. di quello baronale, per mpr. E' rappresentata da Alfonso, di Enrico, di Alfonso nato a Sorrento 11 ottobre 1885, ricon. nel titolo di barone e di patrizio di Cosenza con D. P. 16 luglio 1927. Sorelle: Laura, nata a Napoli 17 ottobre 1893, in Carafa di Andria: Francesca, nata a Napoli
