Solar gamboino, antiguo y poderoso, en la villa de su nombre. El primer caballero de que se tiene noticia se llamó Pedro Ortiz de Z., padre de otro Pedro Ortiz de Z., abuelo de Juan Ortiz de Z. y bisabuelo de otro Juan Ortiz de Z., casado con una hija de Fernando de Gamboa. En la villa de Guetaria hubo dos casas: una, llamada de Z.-Jaureguia y sita junto a la iglesia parroquial, y otra en el centro de la población. Otra radicó en la villa de Segura, y otra en Deva. Pedro de Z. y Aldamar fué Caballero de la Orden de Santiago y probó su hidalguía en Guetaria en 1660; Mateo de Z. y Andonegui vistió también el hábito santiaguista en 1671. Fortún Sánchez de Z. y Gamboa, Justicia Mayor de Guipúzcoa, es el tronco de los Ortiz de Z. Francisco de Z. y Gamboa ingresó en la Orden de Santiago en 1637. Martín de Z. y Andonaegui fué Caballero de la Orden de Calatrava.
