Riporta il Calvi nella sua opera intitolata "Il Patriziato Milanese", stampato in Milano, dal Borroni nel 1875. Varie sono le opinioni circa l'origine di questa famiglia. Si trovano memorie certe di essa verso la metà del secolo XIII. Ha goduto nobiltà in numerose città Lombarde. Dovendo trattar di questa chiarissima Famiglia frà l'altre nobili delle celebratissime Città, del nostro Regno, accioche, benche scomparsa detta Famiglia, viva però sempre nella memoria de' posteri, tanto più, che dimostrò egli sempre haverne sommo desiderio, senza però fare, che dal affetto del antica amicitia, venghi in qualche modo occultata, ò alterata la verità dell'historia.
