Famiglia originaria di Faenza. Dalle fonti storiche risulta che questa Casata trae le sue più antiche origini da Forlì. Diramò in varie località della Romagna e un ramo si stanziò in Faenza. Capostipite certo è un Nicola, vivente nel 1354. Giovanni Battista fu aggregato alla nobiltà di Faenza nel 1652. Rodolfo, suo fratello, fu visitatore apostolico. Domenico, Vescovo di Veroli, vice gerente di Roma, fu assessore al S. Uffizio. Giacomo, suo fratello, fu governatore di Faenza, Forlì e Cesena. Giovanni Battista fu decorato del titolo comitale con diploma 8 luglio 1710 del Duca di Parma Francesco Farnese. Raimondo, nato nel 1764, fu Cavaliere di Malta. La Casata fu ascritta al Patriziato di S. Marino nel 1621. Paolo, fu Ugo, nato ad Ancona il 23.3.1921, scenografo, professore ordinario di storia dell'arte e disegno. Medaglia d'oro quale fondatore e direttore del museo storico didattico della tappezzeria di Bologna, direttore della Galleria d'arte
