Antica famiglia dell'Umbria con residenza a Gubbio. Appartenne a questa famiglia quel celebre Lando bargello e tiranno di Firenze nel 1316, fra i discendenti del quale sono da notre Lando di Lando podestà in molti comuni d'Italia e finalmente a Firenze nel 1374, Lazzaro di Lando capitano del popolo nella stessa città nel 1395; e Lando di Lazzaro podestà di Bologna, di Fermo e di Firenze nel 1411. I Becchi appartennero alla fazione guelfa, e dal 1384 al 1391 furono tra i più ferventi patriotti eugubini che si opposero alla signoria del conte Antonio di Montefeltro. L'ultimo di questa famiglia fu un Lando che nel 1537 instituì erede Galsso Guelfoni suo nipote da parte di sorella. Altro ramo. Un Gianni di Becco fu dei Signori nel 1282, 1285 e 1289. Famiglia originaria di Sesto (Firenze). Altro ramo. Uno Stefano nel 1363, un Tieri e un Lorenzo nel 1391 ebbero parte
