Originaria di Bergamo, e trapiantata nel Trentino nel 1560, fu nobilitata nel 1591 dall'Imperatore Rodolfo II, e nel 1787 ottenne il titolo di barone. Al dir dei numerosi ricercatori e biografi dell'epoca, tra cui: Bagatti-Valsecchi F. - Calvi F. - Casati L.N. - Muoni D. - Pullè L., che nella loro opera "Famiglie Notabili Milanesi. Cenni storico-genealogici, stampato in Milano da A. Vallardi nel 1875. al volume 4", la quale fiorì in quella repubblica. Se lo speculare valesse nell'Istoria, si ridurrebbe questa in opinioni, che possano essere false, e conseguentemente si verrebbe a si distruggere il principal oggetto dell'istessa che è la mera, e pura verità. Non è dubbio alcuno, che qualunque deve riconoscere il suo primo principio, ma essendo questo tanto remoto originaria di Lombardia, e che abitante in quelle terre, ha dato occasione a molti Scrittori di asserirla originaria dal sangue Lombardo. Inquartato; nel primo e quarto d'oro, all'aquila di nero, coronata del campo; nel secondo d'oro, ad un uomo nascente, vestito d'azzurro, e coperto di un berretto dello stesso con rivolti e fiocco d'oro, tenente le mani di carnagione ai fianchi; nel quarto di nero, alla banda di verde. Sul tutto spaccato; nel primo d'argento, a tre torri di rosso, moventi dalla partizione, fra le quali una stella di sei raggi d'oro; nel secondo scaccato di rosso e d'argento di tre file.
