Famiglia fermana ascritta alla prima nobiltà. Diede uomini insigni fra i quali emerge la figura del card. Tommaso (n. nel 1779 e dec. nel 1852) il quale fu segretario di Stato del Sommo Ponteficie in tempi difficilissimi, camerlengo del Sacro Collegio e Cancelliere di S.R.C. Alessandro, vescovo di Loreto e Recanati (1833), prelato domestico di Gregorio XVI, vescovo assistente al soglio. Anche gli Evangelista, ascritti al patriziato di Fermo fin dal 1547, diedero vari uomini insigni fra i quali Giulio, comm. di S. Stefano di Toscana, ed Alessandro cavaliere del medesimo ordine; questi con sua madre Margherita Graziani e sua sorella Chiara fecero rifiorire l'antico Santuario di S. Maria della Stella a Marina Palmense. Con Decr. Luog. 4 febb. 1917 la famiglia venne autorizzata ad aggiungere il cognome Evangelista. La Consulta Araldica come risulta dell'Elenc. uff. nob. delle Marche riconobbe fin dal 1906 spettare a questa famiglia i titoli: nobile
