Si vuole originaria da Napoli, trapiantatasi successivamente in Sicilia. Un Giovanni fu castellano del R. Palazzo di Messina, nel 1398 fu barone di metà di Cosimo o Fontanafredda e forse egli stesso fu capitano di giustizia in trapani nel 1435-36 e senatore della città nel 1439-40; un notar Michele fu capitano di giustizia in Calatafimi nel 1403; un Emanuele fu cavaliere dell'ordine di Malta nel 1434; un Giovanni Antonio (chiamato Rizu e Rizzo), come donatario di Belvico Urso, fu barone di Miri per investitura del 12 giugno 1458 e fu senatore di Messina negli anni 1464-65 1468-69; un Bernardino, figlio del precedente, fu senatore in detta città nel 1496-97; un Benedetto Isso fu senatore di Trapani nel 1473-74, capitano di giustizia nel 1474-74, e, per la moglie, possedette l'isola di Favignana, della quale ottenne investitura il 21 agosto 1504 il figlio Andrea Ziccio e Carissimo, che fu regio cavaliere,
