Famiglia ascritta al Consiglio di Murano fino dall'anno 1694 e riconfermata nel 1783; coprì le principali cariche del Comune, emerse nell'arte vetraria ed ebbe dalla Repubblica Veneta il privilegio di coniar le monete dette oselle. Si segnalò monsignor Giovanni (1836-1871). Il sottodescritto Maffeo fu tra gli animosi cittadini di Padova che presero parte alla spedizione nella notte dal 24 al 25 1866 a Vicenza, non ancora sgombra dalle truppe austriache e coi suoi compagni meritò l'encomio deliberato dal Consiglio Comunale di Padova il 28 luglio di quell'anno. Egli, insieme col fratello, rese utili servigi alla Patria ed alla Società, promuovendo industrie e rendendosi benemerito all'agricoltura, per cui con D.P. 8 aprile 1920, seguito da RR. LL. PP. 23 settembre 1920 ebbe la concessione della nobiltà. La famiglia è iscritta nel Libro d'Oro della Nob. Ital. e nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nob.
