Antiga e nobre família alemã, originária de Helmlingen, em Baden-Württemberg, de clara e ancestral virtude, que se difundiu pela Europa, ao longo dos séculos, tendo como principal povoamento a França. De acordo com o que foi transmitido, esta família, como recompensa pelos valiosos serviços prestados a Carlos IV, Sacro Imperador Romano-Germânico, foi admitida na "Briefadel" (lit. "carta de nobreza"), a chamada nova nobreza como oposto a "Uradel", termo cunhado apenas nos tempos modernos, em referência a famílias nobres cuja linhagem ancestral pode ser rastreada até antes da Idade Média. Aliás, esta família, em todas as idades, sempre se destacou, graças às figuras proeminentes, que deram à luz, no serviço público, nas profissões liberais e no serviço militar. Do nosso arquivo: Bartholomäus Zimpfer (Lichtenau, 21 de abril de 1594 - Helmlingen, 1675) que se casou com Magdalena Weber (1597 - 1661) que lhe deu quatro filhos: Hans, Jacob, Bartholomäus e Magdalena;
