Così venne denominato a Roma Giuseppe Ginanni nobile ravennate, che nel 1744 fu Priore dei Caporioni a Roma ed essendo assai stimato da Benedetto XIV ottenne che la sua famiglia venisse compresa fra le nobili nella bolla Urbem Romam. Del resto l'ortografia del cognome Ginanni come quello dei Ginnasi, ambedue romagnoli, si trova spesso alterata in Zinanni, Zinnasi, Zanasi, ecc. Abbiamo posto questa famiglia nella lettera Z perchè così trovasi nel Libro d'Oro del Campidoglio. Prima di Giuseppe, i Ginanni avevano tenuto la contea palatina e la nobiltà romana da Papa Paolo V; inoltre due vescovi: Prospero di Cervia, sotto Clemente VIII e Gaetano di Foligno, sotto Pio VI, fiorirono a Roma alla corte pontificia. Lo stemma di questa casa è trinciato d'oro e di rosso alla banda d'azzurro caricata di tre stelle d'oro, attraversante sul trinciato. Il capo azzurro col drago d'oro e quello d'oro con l'aquila di nero
