Beltrame nel 1279 fu aggregato al nobile Consiglio veronese. Uno di questa casa, con uno dei Lavezzola, diede nel 1487 grossa somma per la fabbrica di S. Maria della Vittoria. Matteo nel 1546 fu giudice di Collegio,e poi nel 1565 ebbe la prima carica municipale di Vicario della casa dei mercanti. Nel 1517 era stato il primo della sua casa aggregato al nobile Consiglio, e nel 1723 un Antonio ne fu l'ultimo. Un'altra famiglia dello stesso cognome da Medole nel Bresciano si trasferì in Verona verso il 1350. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e deve essere ricercata in quei detti arguti che venivano scritti sui vessilli o bandiere dei cavalieri, esposti alle finestre delle locande in cui questi alloggiavano, in occasione dei tornei, e durante i tornei stessi.
