Assai antichi in Savigliano, dove provenivano da Villanova Mondovì. Il primo personaggio noto è Gasparino, nato intorno al 1550. Da lui, attraverso una lunga serie di uomini d'armi e di toga, si giunge al capitano Ignazio che, il 24 agosto 1792, ebbe la concessione del titolo di conte da applicarsi ad un feudo, ciò che poi non avvenne. Egli diede luogo a due linee: la primogenita rappresentata dal conte Edoardo, pare oggi estinta; la secondogenita, è rappresentata dai figli di Eugenio, nato a Torino il 24 gennaio 1831. Eugenio (deceduto), di Benedetto Damiano, di Giuseppe; nobile dei conti. Figli: Barberina, Giuseppe, Angelo, Alfonsina, Sofia. Motto della famiglia: Virtute et opere Altro ramo. Famiglia antica, con larghe diramazioni. Il ramo, agnato dell'attuale, ebbe la signoria di Cavallerleone per successione ad una Ceva di Nucetto, moglie di Giovanni Battista, e si spense nella prima metà del secolo XVIII.
