Originaria di Perugia, dove era conosciuta sotto il nome di Boncambi, era assai ricca e s'imparentò con molte case patrizie. Un Michele fu molto caro al pontefice Eugenio IV, il quale avendo nel 1443 chiesto alla Signoria Veneta dieci galere per farle armare contro i Turchi, lo costituì nell'armata depositario dei soccorsi che in quell'occasione furono contribuiti, e lo creò quindi conte palatino. Un altro Michele, di questa stessa famiglia, fu vescovo di Chissano, nella prima metà del XVI secolo. Altro ramo. Famiglia dell'Ordine dei Segretari della Repubblica Veneta e che aggregata al nobile Consiglio di Padova nel 1771, fu confermata nobile con Sovrana Risoluzione 19 novembre 1820. La famiglia è iscritta nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano col titolo di nobile (mf.), in persona di Giovanni, di Angelo, di Francesco. Figlio: Angelo. Sorelle: Maria, Lucia in Giuseppe Suman.
