Ilustre linaje sardo de la era Giudicato de rango principesco, también conocido en las variantes De Thori, Thuri, Çori y Zorì, de clara y ancestral virtud, se extendió a lo largo de los siglos en varias regiones de Italia y Europa, con mayor asentamientos en España y Francia. El origen de este apellido se encuentra en el antiguo topónimo Thori, Zori o Thuri, que corresponde al centro arborense de Zuri, una pequeña villa del curador de Gulcier. El apellido todavía se aplica con las formas Zori, Zuri en la misma área arborense y con la variante Dettori en el área Logudorese. Entre 1065 y 1135, encontramos exponentes de la familia en la cima de los cuatro reinos sardos. Durante este período, los Thori o Zori expresaron seis soberanos en los Giudicati de Arborea, Gallura y Torres y otras tantas reinas, dos de las cuales se unieron a la dinastía Lacon-Gunale,
