Illustre lignée sarde de la période Giudicato de rang princier, également connue dans les variantes De Thori, Thuri, Çori et Zorì, de vertu claire et ancestrale, répartie au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie et d'Europe, avec de plus grandes colonies en Espagne et en France . L'origine de ce patronyme se trouve dans l'ancien toponyme Thori, Zori ou Thuri qui correspond au centre arboricole de Zuri, une petite villa du curatoria de Gulcier. Le patronyme existe encore aujourd'hui avec les formes Zori, Zuri dans la même zone arboricole et avec la variante Dettori dans la zone logudoraise. Entre 1065 et 1135, on retrouve des membres de la famille au sommet des quatre royaumes sardes. A cette époque, les Thori ou Zori exprimèrent six souverains dans les Giudicati d'Arborea, Gallura et Torres et autant de reines, dont deux rejoignirent la dynastie Lacon-Gunale, qui régna alors dans le Giudicato de
