Dall'archivio vescovile di Sutri (Prot. 41, pag. 19 anno 1737), risulta un albero genealogico della famiglia Zorlani, dal quale vediamo che Filippo, nobile ufficiale della Maestà Cesarea, era figlio del cav. Francesco, nobile della Custodia di Urbano VIII. Francesco e Virgilio erano figli del cavaliere gerosolimitano Bernardino. Anche il ramo di Civitacastellana era nobile, per il comune capostipite. La famiglia di Civitacastellana discende dal famoso capitano Italiano Forlano, al servizio del duca Filippo Maria Visconti di Milano. Italiano, per i servizi resi in guerra, veniva investito per se e discendenti, in infinito nel 15 luglio 1438, dal duca di Milano dei feudi nobili di Castelleone, Piadena, S. Giorgio in Croce, Casteldidone e Spineta in Diocesi di Cremona (Archivio di Stato di Milano Reg. Ducale ora 41, fol. 391) e nel 23 febb. 1441 del feudo nobile di Castellazzo in Diocesi di Alessandria (Arch. Stato Milano. Reg. Ducale ora 41,
