En la villa de Vergara hay un barrio llamado Z., que acaso tenga relación con este apellido del que hubo una casa solar en la villa de Ormáiztegui del partido de Azpéitia, todo en Guipúzcoa. Pasaron a la villa de El Molar (Madrid), donde tuvieron señorio. Alberto de Z. probó su hidalguía en Zaráuz, en 1692, y Juan y Ana María de Z., hermanos, en Ichaso, en 1704. Juan de Z. y Agurrezábal fué Caballero de la Orden de Santiago y probó su hidalguía en Ormáiztegui, en 1655. José de Z. y Fraisoro de Ipinza vistió también el hábito de Santiago en 1662.
