La famille Zucca est très ancienne et noble, appelée Zucca ou Zucco est originaire de la région de Bergame, de nombreux caractères de ce patronyme sont souvent mentionnés dans les actes notariés depuis les siècles passés, d'où il ressort qu'ils étaient de condition noble. Diverses branches de la famille se sont répandues dans différentes régions d'Italie, principalement en Sardaigne. Cette illustre famille comprend des personnalités de haute vertu, Antonio comme juge collégial en 1566 et en 1575 vicaire de la maison des marchands. Lodovic, son arrière-petit-fils, juriste très clair, fut inscrit au Collège des juges en 1648 et donc nonce à Venise. En 1532, cette maison obtint d'être agrégée au conseil noble de Vérone, et le dernier des Zucca à y appartenir fut Giulio-Cesare en 1728.
