Ancienne et illustre famille de Pontremoli, admise à ce conseil urbain et liée aux principaux de cette terre, tels que les Serrati, les Dodi, les Castellini, les Maraffi, les Anziani, etc. De Nicol'Antonio, di Gio, Battista, maire de Pontremoli en l'an 1734, naquirent quatre enfants : Marc'Antonio, Gio, Battista, Gaspare et Stefano, qui furent attribués à la noblesse de Pontremoli ; les trois premiers par un décret du 14 juillet 1780, le quatrième par un décret du 17 décembre 1779. Le susdit Stefano épousa Maria Costa, nièce, par sa mère, de Niccola Castellini, dont le nom et l'emblème.
