Antica ed illustre famiglia di Pontremoli, ammessa a quel Consiglio urbano ed imparentata con le principali di quella terra, quali i Serrati, i Dodi, i Castellini, i Maraffi, gli Anziani, ecc. Da Nicol'Antonio, di Gio, Battista, sindaco di Pontremoli nell'anno 1734, nacquero quattro figli: Marc'Antonio, Gio. Battista, Gaspare e Stefano, i quali furono ascritti alla nobiltà di Pontremoli; i primi tre con decreto 14 luglio 1780, il quarto con decreto 17 dicembre 1779. Il predetto Stefano sposò Maria Costa, nipote, per parte di madre, di Niccola Castellini, del quale, per concessione 5 agosto 1778, aggiunse al proprio il cognome e lo stemma. La famiglia, inoltre, venne ascritta alla nobiltà di Urbania nel 1748, in persona di un Pietro. Essa è anche iscritta nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano, col titolo di nobile di Pontremoli (mf.), in persona di: discendenti da Niccolò e Bartolomeo, di Marc'Antonio, di Niccolò, di Amos, di Nicola, di
