Antica famiglia di Camerino, dove fece parte del Minore e Maggiore Consiglio, ricoprendo le più alte cariche riservate al patriziato; fece pure parte del Consiglio dei XV instituito dal cardinal Durante, legato ad latere di Paolo III. Le origini di questa famiglia non si possono stabilire data la dispersione degli archivi; capostipite conosciuto è un Zuccone, vivente nella prima metà del sec. XV, dal quale nacque Battista, che nel 1451 fu fra i nobili camertini inviati a Corte per le nozze tra Giulio Cesare dei Malatesta, dei signori di Rimini. Nella "Historia di Camerino", di Camillo Lilli, è ricordata "una Caterina della nobile famiglia degli Zucconi, che nel 1428 istituì il monastero di S. Giovanni di Todi". Dal suddetto Battista ne venne Lorenzo, che nel 1523 fu inviato dal duca Giovanni Maria dei Varano, ambasciatore a Napoli e poi a Perugia. Giacomo, il quale fu il primo investito del priorato
