Procede del lugar de Zurbano (cuyo nombre tomó), del Ayuntamiento de Arrazúa y partido de Vitoria (Álava). Pasó a Guipúzcoa, fundando nueva casa en la villa de Segura, del partido de Azpéitia, y a Vizcaya, estableciéndose en la villa de Bilbao. Son sus armas: Cortado: primero, de plata, con un águila bicéfala, de sable, y segundo, de azur, con dos cisnes de plata, para dos y afrontados, entrelazados los cuellos. Don Juan Sánchez de Z. Colegial Mayor en Salamanca en 1417, del Consejo de Don Juan II de Castilla, su Embajador en Aragón y Arzobispo, añadió al anterior escudo, en el jefe, un escudete de azur con cinco bandas de plata, y a cada lado del escudete, un barbo o pez. Otros: Partido: primero, de plata, con el águila bicéfala, de sable, y segundo, de oro, con dos palomas blancas, paradas y atadas por el cuello con una cinta de gules.
