Oriunda di Orta Novarese. Giulio fu ardente patriota. D'alto d'ingegno, di acuta e profonda dottrina legale, avvocato principe fu il di lui figlio Giacomo (n. Orta Novarese, 1 giugno 1787) Scrisse: "Sullo stato civile", "Degli statuti Novaresi" "Abolizione delle tasse annonnarie", fu segretario (1810) e sostituto Regio a Trento, senatore del Regno (3 aprile 1848), consigliere di Stato e presidente capo della commissione superiore di sanità, membro della Regia Deputazione di Storia Patria (20 aprile 1833) e decorato di ordini cavallereschi italiani e stranieri. Gli fu coniata una medaglia. Per la "rara e non comune dottrina, esimie doti, meriti in uffici pubblici fra le quali l'Istituto Bellini, che con gran frutto si regge sotto la di lui presidenza; il re lo nobilitò con Patenti del 4 marzo 1845. Con Decreto Ministeriale del 28 novembre 1896 venne riconosciuto nel titolo il nipote Giacomo (n.Orta, 12 sett. 1873), di Carlo Angelo.
