Famiglia che nel secolo XVII trovasi stabilita a Onano, diocesi di Sovana, ma che nelle provanze addotte per ottenere la nobiltà fiorentina, che le fu concessa con Rescritto del 18 aprile 1831, si volle dimostrare discendente da un Santi di Francesco, di Lionardo da Pozzolatico, fra i maggiori del quale trovansi quattro priori dal 1344 al 1456 e un notaio della Signoria, Ser Bartolo, di Bernardo, che occupò tale ufficio nel 1304. In tempi più recenti si rese noto il dott. Eugenio Stanislao, di Domenico, professore di Fisiologia prima in Firenze nel 1823 e poi a Siena nel 1824, che in quest'anno sposò Marianna del cavaliere Lawrence Rowe, della quale famiglia inquartò nel suo lo stemma di rosso ai tre agnus dei d'argento coi motti: "malo mori quam foedari, e chilidren union for ever".
