Ramo secondogenito della famiglia patrizia di Fano. Questo ramo ha l'obbligo di aggiungere il cognome Ottaviani come per l'epoca nuziale (gennaio 1883) del suo capostipite conte Giov. Battista figlio del fu conte Lorenzo, che sposò il 31 gennaio 1883 la nobile Apollonia figlia unica di Marco Ottaviani di Arcevia, ma originaria di Firenze. Di questa famiglia é da ricordarsi Teresa Ottaviani (n. 1814 dec. 1840) che morì in concetto di santità e i cui resti riposano nella Cappella del Presepe di juspatronato di famiglia, nella Chiesa Collegiata di San Medardo di Arcevia (Ancona). E' in corso il provvedimento per l'aggiunta del cognome Ottaviani. Il 21 febbraio 1914 S. S. il Pontefice Pio X concesse il titolo comitale al conte Gio. Batta, in linea primogeniale maschile, e ciò per le sue benemerenze nel campo dell'azione cattolica. Tale titolo fu autorizzato con Decreto Regio 5 agosto 1927 e RR. LL. PP. 18
