Dell'ordine popolare, origiaria del castello di Monteautolo del Bosco, ebbe sepolcro e cappella in S. Domenico. Ammessa alla nobiltà senese, il primo a risiedere fra i Governatori fu Ser Cristofano di Andrea nel 1400. Adriano fu Maestro di Camera del Cardinale Piccolomini, poi Papa Pio III, di cui divenne Datario. Frate Jacomo Domenicano fu Vescovo di Trani. Bernardino e Salimbene furono canonici della metropolitana senese, e quest'ultimo lasciò al Capitolo un vastissimo territorio con la villa detta del Petraio. Fabrizio fu celebre lettore di filosofia in Pisa ed in Siena. Fra Benuccio di Cristoforo fu Cav. Gerosolim. nel 1430 e Priore di Alberese, e dopo lui altri due della stessa famiglia appartennero allo stesso Ordine. Nicolò fu spedito ambasciatore al pontefice in Avignone nel 1362, e Salimbene dopo essere stato rettore dell'Ospedale di S. Maria della Scala nel 1475, fu poi ambasciatore a Clemente VIII nel 1483.
