Abound, very rare, is typical of the area between Milan and Como, Abbondio, equally rare, is typical of the area between Milan and Crema, Abundo and Abbundo, absolutely rare, they would appear to be Neapolitan, Abondi would seem unique, certainly Abondio and it is characteristic of Darfo Boario Terme in the Brescia area, they all derive from the medieval name Abundius, of which we have an example in Bormio in 1630 in a trial for witchcraft: "... Die mercurii XI mensis decembris. Coram magnificent council constitutus fuit antescriptus Abundius of Sartor Et interogatus that I want to confess the truth, if he is a sorcerer, as he has been denunted by several people ... ", name which corresponds to the Italian Abbondio, we remember for example the famous curate of the betrothed, Don Abbondio.
