Accogli is typical of the Lecce area, especially of Andrano and Tricase, but is also very present in Scorrano, and in the Taranto area of Diso and Fragagnano, it should derive from the apheretic form of the medieval name Bonaccogli, attributed to highly desired sons, a name probably brought by the progenitors.
