AIALA | AJALA

Aiala is unique to Palermo, Ajala is very rare and should come from Sicily, probably deriving from the Arabic ayal (deer) or from the Hebrew name Ayal, with the same root, but could also be of Spanish origin (in 1606 we report a Jeronimo Ayala Alcalde (mayor) of a Spanish town), in Spain there is a valley of Ayala and in 1400, in valledolid there are traces of an Anton Ayala.
