Amichetti, very rare, is typical of Ancona and Macerata, Amichini is practically unique, Amici has a stock in Lombardy and is widespread in Romagna, Marche, Umbria and Lazio, Amico has a Brindisi and a Neapolitan lineage and a large nucleus in Sicily, Amicone has an Abruzzese and one in the Isernia stock as well as a large Roman stock, Amiconi, much rarer, has a stock in Teramo, one in the Aquila area and one in Rome, Amicucci has a stock in Ancona, one in the 'Aquila and one in the Roman, Amighetti is typically Lombard, of Bresciano, of Verolanuova and Brescia, of Bergamo, of Urgnano, Costa Volpino and Lovere and of Milan, Amighini has a stock in Cremona and one in Verona, Amigo, almost unique, is Ligurian, they should all derive, directly or through augmentative or hypocoristic, from the medieval graticatory name Amicus or Amigus we recall the Abruzzese San Amico, who died in 1045; we find traces of these surnames in Brescello in the Reggio area in the early 1400s, with Pietro degli Amighetti of Cremona notary of Duodo and also Camerlengo, later in Narni in the second half of 1500 we find the governor Iulius Amicus.
