Bonardelli, very rare, has a stock in the Brescia area and one in the Messina area, Bonardello, equally rare, is specific to Dronero in the Cuneo area, Bonardi is typical of the western part of northern Italy, but mostly Lombard, Bonardini, almost seemingly Northern Italy, Bonardo is decidedly Piedmontese, Turin and in the Cuneo area of Mondovì, Fossano and Bra, Boniardi, very rare, specific to Milan, and low Varese, can derive, directly or through hypocoristic forms, from nicknames originated from the name bonarda ( type of wine from the Oltrepò), but, most probably, they derive from the Lombard name Bono with the addition of a hard (hard, brave).
