BRANDOLINI

Three strains are identified, one in the provinces of Pavia and Milan, one in Romagna and one in Lazio and Abruzzi, it should derive from Germanic names composed with Brando (Aldobrando, Ildebrando etc.) or by nicknames linked to the same root. additions provided by Giovanni Vezzelli Brandolini is a diminutive derivative of the surname Brandoli, attested in Modena for a long time, and can be traced back to the Longobardian Brandilo, from whom also the toponym Bràndola (in com. of Polinago Modenese), named from 1001, moves on the other hand, being the origin of the surname itself.
