Brendani, very rare, is typical of the Genoese area, La Spezia, Brindani, more widespread, it is typical of the Reggio area, Montecchio Emilia, Reggio Emilia and Bibbiano and of the Parma area, of Parma in particular, both should derive from the medieval name Brendanus to his vault derived from the name Brettan Brendanig, we recall with this name the Sanctus Brendanus, Irish, from the 6th century: "Sanctus Brendanus filius Finloca nepotis Alti de gender Eogeni stagnili region Mumenensium ortus fuit. pater ... ". additions provided by Romano Brindani I carried out a genealogical research on the surname Brindani, a surname that I understand to be derived from the surname of the name, of the first ascendant, Brendano de Palude (1315-1398ca) (Quattro Castella) descendant from the historic Reggio Emilia family Da Palude. (Editor's note = With the toponym De Palude we referred anciently to the area of Fabbrico in the Reggio area)
