Definitely Lombard originates from the toponym Brivio (LC). The Brivio counts and their Rocca in San Giuliano are famous. There are traces of this lineage since 1100 when a family of Germanic origin, of Brunswich in particular, settled in Milan, in 1377 we find the Brivio listed among the nobles of the metropolitan list, in 1300 Franzino Brivio was among the statute reformers Milanese and, in 1400, Delfino Brivio is one of the most authoritative collaborators of Giangaleazzo Visconti, the Marquis Brivio became lords of Casal Majocco, Roncoli, Sordio and Isola Baìba.
