CALINI | CALINO

Calini is specific to the Milanese, with a small stock in the Brescia area, Calino, absolutely rare, from the Brescia area, the latter, together with the Brescia branch of the Calini, could derive from the toponym Calino di Cazzago San Martino (BS), all can derive from the Latin cognomen Calenus we remember the Roman general Quintus Fufius Calenus who became Consul in 47 AD. We find the famous traces of these surnames in the 1500s in Brescia, where the Calinis belonged to the best nobility and in 1700 with Ludovico Calini Vescovo of Crema.
