CALVARI | CALVARIO | CALVERI

Calvari, very very rare, has a small stock in the Piacenza area, one in the Macerata area, one in Rome and one in the Reggio area, Calvario has a stock in Rome and in Anagni in frusinate, one in Bari and Molfetta in Bari and one in Villabate in Palermo , Calveri, very rare, has a stock in Rome and one in Messina and neighboring Reggio, could derive from the Latin name Calvarius or Calverius, but it is also possible that derive from the medieval name Calvary attributed to the children in memory and honor of the Passion of Christ. We find traces of these surnames in Ajaccio in Corsica at least from the first half of the 1500s, when the Noble Quilico Calvari is Councilor of the City of Ajaccio.
