CUMMO

Cummo is typical of Canicattì in Agrigento, it can potentially be of a slavic origin and derive from the archaic alteration of the Gothic name Guma, but it is also possible to derive from the medieval name Cummo of which we have used a usage example in a dated 1166 in Lombardy, Where can I read: "... you put trustees Unfredum qui dicitur de Cummo de Varisio et Deuseumadiuvet de Busti communiter ...".
