CUSCONA | CUSCONA' | CUSCUNA | CUSCUNA'

Cuscona, absolutely rare, now almost limited to Catania, would seem to have been originally from Messina, Cusconà, almost unique, it would seem Calabrian to Reggio, Cuscuna, absolutely rare, has a very small stock in the Reggio area and one in the Catania area, Cuscunà has a stock in the Reggio area. Locri and one in Catania in Motta Sant'Anastasia and Catania, these surnames should derive from the Turkish Albanian surname Kuskuni, or more probably from its Greek and Albanian variant Kuskunàs, as it is also possible a derivation from a nickname based on the Greek word coyscoynàs (breeder of pigs) to indicate perhaps the job of the founders.
