LANFRESCHI

Lanfreschi, absolutely rare, is specific to Ischia, on the Neapolitan island of the same name, it may be of Swabian origin and derive from the Germanic name Landfrid, but, most probably derives from the Italianization of the Norman name Lanfrik, we remember this family the son of marquis of Bellarena in Molise, Giacomo Lanfreschi, archbishop of Matera and Acerenza, the Eskitano Francesco Lanfreschi (Ischia 1691 - Matera 1772) who held the archiepiscopal see from 1738 to 1754, after having been Bishop of Gaeta.
