Lanzarotti seems to have two stocks, one from Genoa and one from Pavia, Lanzarotto is typical of Verona, and should derive from the Renaissance name Lanzarottus (Lancelot or Lancelot). We find traces of this name in 1200 with the Genoese navigator Lanzarotto Marocello, discoverer of the Canaries.
