Lardon seems to be from Turin, Lardone has a Piedmontese stock, a Tuscan one and a Neapolitan one, Lardoni is almost unique, it seems to originate from the area of Massarosa in Lucca, they should derive from the ancient word lardone or pardo di lardo which means one half of the lard 'a pig salted in a single piece, probably referring to the activity of the progenitor.
